Overview
My role is to assist the brand controllers and to support the marketing teams with their day-today finance related task. I ensure that all costs are booked correctly and provide accurate information for the controllers to carry out their financial closing and decision making. I also ensure the marketing team are following internal procedures and act as an ambassador for finance related queries for the division. Day to day tasks: Ensure all costs are tracked in budget files Approve and reject all marketing costs Upload payments to our third party vendor platforms Support on problem solving and all queries concerning internal financial procedures and software Champion for releasing and minimising the divisions blocked payments/invoices Provide training sessions for new starters on the various financial procedures and platforms they may use Assist with month end financial reconciliation of the budget files

Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility upon my start at Loreal and I immediately noticed that my contribution was valued and needed within my team and division. being trusted with the level of responsibility I had really built my confidence and I felt like my team believed in me.
Support & Guidance
Upon my arrival at Loreal, I was given super detailed training on my job role. The guidance continued throughout the year and I always felt like I had something to learn from my team. I felt supported by my team from my first day and never felt like I couldnt ask them for help. My team also made an effort to support me without me reaching out first which I appreciated especially at the start.
Culture
The company culture at Loreal was welcoming and friendly. I felt comfortable taking time out my day to catch up with colleagues and it was also encouraged by my managers. It is quite a relaxed atmosphere though there is definitely a sense of determination and teamwork.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my internship even though there was times where I might have felt out of my comfort zone with all the new experiences and tasks. It was a fun year and I have enjoying learning a lot about the industry and myself.

I would advise others to try their best and make the most of it. You get what you put into the placement, so get involved!!
