Overview
Helping get people online with correct access and authorisations to SAP. Involves operating a helpdesk, enhancing existing roles with new functionality, providing audit support, generating reports and creating new users for upcoming projects.
Skills
I’ve developed my confidence a great deal through many opportunities to present and meet new people, as well as becoming a more collaborative and time-conscious contributor to my fast-paced team environment. Having to keep track of many tasks and preparing for work events also helped boost my organisational skills, and I’ve learned a great deal about responsibility and how to carry myself.
Responsibilities
I was given responsibility over the user accounts I dealt with and the processes I did that had to be compliant with audit procedures, and was also on teams that were responsible for co-ordinating large scale events both internal to my team and external.
Support & Guidance
I received a great deal of support from my in company manager, functional manager, placement co-ordinator and every member of my team.
Culture
The company culture within Siemens UK IT is fantastic and extremely close-knit, as we have many informal events and opportunities to socialise and explore the surrounding area beyond which we work while also maintaining a professional demeanour.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement! I found it to have pushed me outside my comfort zone regularly and help me greatly with evaluating where I see myself working in the future, more specifically in a culture like the one at Siemens.
