Overview
get familiar of the team members and business. Identify how data could be used and contributed to the team by talking with team members. Once find some interesting point then ask for dataset permission and start to play around it. Meanwhile I had some simple spreadsheet work to do.
Skills
Natwest has brilliant learning culture. Everyone has access to Data Camp to learn coding skills or any levels of different data knowledge. I started to learn data engineer track specifically developed for Natwest and it's very interesting. We also have self-led learning time in our weekly schedule.
Responsibilities
I think yes. Every simple work needs high level of concentration cause you need to make sure the data are correct.
Support & Guidance
My manager helped me to get to familiar with the team members and get to know the team's business. He also helped to arrange some meetings with other colleagues to help me to learn from their data-related project. My intern buddy also offered me a chance to shadow her project.
Culture
The company has a strong learning culture and everyone is very helpful so it's warm to work with them.
Your Impressions
Very enjoy. At the beginning it was confused, but as soon you know more about your team and team members it was easy to contribute the team which you can get a sense of fulfilment from.
