Overview
Shadowing and taking minutes for meetings, supporting on transactions with credit papers, shadowing transactions, attending spotlight sessions run by the early careers team and completing an Intern Group Project.
Skills
This experience has developed my understanding of corporate and commercial transactions and given me a commercial awareness I did not have before. I am learning how to put together credit papers and what preparation goes in to a transaction.
Responsibilities
Yes- I feel like I have been given a really good balance of support and independence. I feel able to message my manager with quick questions to support my independent work and they have been very generous with their time/ willing to jump on a call to explain things.
Support & Guidance
I have received a lot of support and guidance during my internship, including from senior leaders, which I have really appreciated. People are very generous with their time and willing to chat informally/ go for a coffee to answer questions etc
Culture
The company culture was really positive. I felt very welcome as an intern and was invited to socials/ work drinks etc.
Your Impressions
I am only two weeks in but have really enjoyed it so far and learnt loads already- an invaluable experience!
Yes
Ask lots of questions- they don't expect you to come in and know what you're doing. You should feel challenged because that means you're learning and really getting the most out of the experience.
