The Role
It was a great experience. I enjoyed the work and having fun with my colleagues.
As I became more competant I was given more responsibility and more freedom around how to approach my work.
My supervisor was great, can't ask for much more. Some of the managers were perhaps a little weak but still great scientists and always there if i needed help.
It was variable but generally had plenty to do. Being busy is always better than not!
I was happy with the level of responsibilty I was given. I was able to plan my work and felt my suggestions and contributions were taken into consideration. There were a lot of personal development opportunities available.
Increased my knowledge and practical competancy so very useful.
The Company
It was great. lots of other student, music and the staff were nice
Can't fault GSK. SRG who were our actual employers were worse than useless
Opportunities were available to visit departments outside your own area
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
They are an appealing company to work for but limited jobs for true science graduates. PhD program is being set up though.
The Culture
Lots of students meant there was good opportunity to socialise. Stevenage is dire though
Surprisingly cheap considering you're only 1/2hr from kings cross but surprisingly expensive considering how crap the houses are
Stevenage has a few awful pub and a club. Avoid. The locals have 11 fingers and toes.
Various sports clubs affiliated with work.
