Overview
A typical day is conducted of a site inspections in the morning then in the afternoon write up a report on the survey we conducted. Surveys can range from TDD, snagging, Dilaps and more.
Skills
Improved my knowledge of Outlook, teams and Excel. Along with an understanding of what is required from different surveys.
Responsibilities
I was given a large amount of responsibility which was surprising for such a short internship. Responsibilities included taking the lead on some surveys.
Support & Guidance
I was given the right amount of support and guidance, not so much that I didn't get to do anything independently, but enough that I could easily get help if I required.
Culture
I was pleasantly surprised by the culture and I could see myself fitting in really well.

I thoroughly enjoyed my placement experience, my line manager certainty made the experience what it was.
Yes
Experience is key, having experience before you apply will mean you will get the most out of your placement as you are building on existing skills.
