  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have really enjoyed this year, I have gained so much from it.

  • Felt like part of the team.

  • My supervisor has been great in all aspects.

  • Quite busy, but I much prefer to be busy.

  • I have been given quite a bit of responsibility as I have planned my own time and experiments.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learned so much this year and I think it will definately help in my final year and if I decide to do a Phd.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Our office was quite quiet but others are more chatty.

  • Very well organised, no hicups yet.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • My supervisor spent a lot of time when I first started helping whenever needed, also they encourage you to go to different areas of the company to learn as much as possible.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would love to work at GSK but there are not any R&D jobs available.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • every weekend there was something going on, and even during the week groups of us will meet at the pub.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Not too expensive, however when going to london obviously the prices increase.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • not a great variety of places to go, but with our big group of friends it didnt really matter.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I have been playing netball with people from work, however there were no department activities.
