Overview
Working within a team specialising in Central London Office Valuations, undertaking portfolio and secured lending instructions. I helped to provide comprehensive valuation, appraisal and due dilligence advice to a number of institutional clients and private investors. Also attend online and in person events to assist with my knowledge growth. These focuses on other areas of the company, building a personal brand and pitching to name a few. Frequent networking and social opportunities.
Skills
Improved skills - attention to detail, networking, communicating, patience, research and development, presentation skills, effectively prioritising and time management, social skills, adaptability. And many more.
Responsibilities
Yes. I helped on real tasks throughout. Including helping to produce extensive valuation reports, completing research, attending site inspections, attending building viewings, launches, and talks.
Support & Guidance
Great support from my line manager. I was directly under a more junior member of staff which meant that whilst they still had a lot of experience and could assist my learning effectively, they also had more free time to be able to help me. At the beginning of my internship, my line manager and I set out what I wanted to achieve and gain through this experience. We focused on these throughout.
Culture
Amazing culture. Despite being a global firm, within each time there is a much smaller feel. Great diversity across teams. Corporate atmosphere, but still very personable.
Your Impressions
Absolutely loved it. I learnt so much, and met so many new people who were so willing to offer advice and chat about their time in the industry. I got involved in real projects alongside my team which gave me a real flavour of what the real estate industry would be like to work in.
Yes
Be yourself. For the internship programme, there is less focus on what you already know about the industry, and more about your enthusiasm and your own uniqueness. Cushman and Wakefield invest in their people.
