The Role
Exciting, advanced chemistry experiments in well equipped labs
Felt part of the team, as a contributing member.
My direct supervisor has given me devoted attention all year, and other supervisors and bosses always have time for advice and help
very occasionally too busy or too quiet
Given plenty freedom over planning and carrying out experiments.
Easily tranferrable to practical project work next year. Additional presentation opportunities, lessons and workshops have helped develope skills to use in company and interview environments
The Company
Very relaxed, open and lively atmosphere. Music in lab and encouraged communication gave a motivated working mood
with over 100 IP students, various levels of events were arranged throughout placement. Always well informed of information by email or directly through supervisor
Mentioned earlier, various workshops, lectures available weekly to students. Supervisors continual invested interest in developement
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
There have been a few job opportunites, but not guarenteed.
The Culture
The large number, and likeminded individuals from all nationalities. Close proximity to london made for good nights out!
Great rent price for house. bars more expensive than cheap prices im used to at uni but very comfortable living as i recieved payment from placement
A bit cringey locally, but close to london so that made up for it! also many house parties because of large IP number
Charity events, social dinners, sports teams, etc.
