Overview
I would have to look over leases, look at service charges and fill out forms based on budgets for properties, go on site visits and look at what needs to be done to ensure that the property is at a good standard and look for improvements that could be made.
Skills
I have learnt more about what to look for in leases when filling out lease forms. I have also learnt about service charges. I have expanded my knowledge about valuating properties and learnt more about the applications that Cushman & Wakefield as well as other property firms use for valuing properties.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was toured around properties while doing audits and had talks with building managers to ensure that everything in the properties were up to standard.
Support & Guidance
I was given lots of support by my fellow colleagues. They were always happy to have a chat about what they do so I could gain more of an insight into what goes on in their day to day work life. When I needed help on a project, my line manager was always happy to help me out as well.
Culture
The different teams within the company were very welcoming and always happy to help in any way necessary. The general atmosphere was that everyone seemed to get along and that everyone was very warm towards each other and it was a very healthy working atmosphere.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my internship and I could definitely love to work for Cushman & Wakefield in the future once I have finished my studies.
Yes
Definitely, go for it. Not only is it a top real estate firm to work for but it is also a very inclusive with all different people. Make sure you put yourself out there and meet as many people as you can as well.
