    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I found it extremely interesting and worthwhile. There are over 100 interns in the UK so i've made some great friends and learnt so much.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt completely valued by 98% of my colleagues. They would go out of their way to thank me and make sure that I was aware that the input that I was putting in was appreciated.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager gave me complete support throughout. No matter how busy he was, he would always make time to check that everything was ok with me and to ask if I had any questions. I didn't feel smothered in any way though - I was left to get on with things but knew that their was guidance and support if I needed it.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My busyness varied throughout the year. There were times when I was in the office until 7pm at night or catching up on work once i'd gone home, but then there were times when I could go into work later or leave early. Perfect balance.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given total responsibility. Within my job role I often worked with partners and they were always amazed at the responsibility that is given to Microsoft interns.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Without a doubt, this year has prepared me for my future career far more than University alone and the skills that I have learnt are priceless.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was fairly quiet but in a good way. It allowed me to get on with my work without being distracted, yet there were people to chat to if I wanted to. Everyone is so friendly and as I got to know my team better I begun to have a real laugh with them.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • My manager would always make me aware of extra training opportunities which I would ensure that I went along to.
