Overview
I was involved in a wide variety of work, from going on client calls, writing up reports, and working on excel. On a day-to-day I would generally be working on a specific piece of work throughout the day interspersed with various calls.
Skills
I have learnt a huge amount, firstly about how an organisation like EY operates (ie. the breakdown of work, how different teams cooperate for clients etc.). I have also learnt a great deal about employment tax, with very little knowledge going in. The team were super kind and generous with their time to help me learn as much as I could about the area. My Excel skills have also definitely improved.
Responsibilities
I was treated like any other member of the team, with the same responsibilities and opportunities.
Support & Guidance
Everyone was super supportive and generous with their time to help teach me. It's definitely an environment where you do not have to be afraid to ask a question!
Culture
Everyone I met was very warm and welcoming. We all sat together on an open floor, so you could be sitting next to a Partner - there was no sense of hierarchal pressure.
Your Impressions
It was a super informative and extremely valuable internship. In only four weeks you learn an immense amount. There were also opportunities to have fun and get to know your team well.
