Overview
Helping wherever is needed in your team. I worked with the digital assets team especially closely, formatting powerpoints, creating slides, summarising reports. I also benefitted from the virtual reality week, getting a headset for a week where we sat in on client meetings, had virtual team meetings and created a presentation to feedback to the summer internship team
Skills
Powerpoint skills developed hugely, excel, digesting and summarising data, time management, communication skills
Responsibilities
Yes, asked to create slides to be used in proposals to clients on a deadline, asked to summarise reports that were sent to leading partners at the firm, and in virtual reality week given responsibility to create presentation from scratch
Support & Guidance
A lot, the buddy system was really helpful as my buddy was able to get me involved straight away and look out for me, my counsellor was another friendly face, and everyone I worked with was keen to get me involved straight away but was always there to provide feedback
Culture
Amazing, everyone was so friendly from graduates to partners, we were really made to feel welcome from everyone involved
Your Impressions
Really enjoyed it, brilliant experience and learning more about consulting and EY, would really recommend
Yes
Be yourself at the assessment centre, lots of people try too hard and come across as overbearing, they really focus on the culture so just be friendly, inclusive whilst still getting your ideas across. Make sure you keep track of time on the tests and practice the job simulation recording yourself before as it is a bit weird. Remember to smile!
