Overview
Would work in audit on wealth and asset management as that was the team I was assigned to. My role would mainly consist of jobs that a first year at EY would be set such as referencing the tick and tie to the lead or doing tasks such as impairment/JE testing. When I was not doing this I would usually spend my time doing online learning.
Skills
Yes, I have learnt what it is like to work in an accounting firm such as EY. Whilst there aren't any specific skills that I can think of that I've picked up, it has been good to work in a team and it pays off to be inquisitive. It has also made me feel more comfortable in a working environment
Responsibilities
About as much as you would expect an intern to be given. I was trusted to carry out tasks but nothing too groundbreaking
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of guidance from the 'buddy' I was assigned and he mainly set me work and guided me on tasks which was very useful
Culture
Very friendly atmosphere and the people who work there are all nice to be around. The atmosphere in the office is quite chill, and the culture supports you answering questions and your personal development
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed it, its been a very beneficial experience to me and is somewhere that I could see myself working after university. It has been really nice meeting other interns and learning from the people who work here
Yes
I would say be sociable and communicative, whilst also being willing to learn
