Overview
The day involved calls with my team over Microsoft teams whereby what has been completed and what needs to be completed was discussed. Furthermore, completing task assigned by seniors including updating files, working with data and daily lessons which allowed me to gain a broader understanding of EY and the service sector. Also, enabling me to gain confidence, problem solving and innovative skills.
Skills
I have used my existing skills of confidence and critical thinking when completing tasks and networking with employees. Moreover, I have learnt new skills including attention to detail, I learnt/developed this skill continually throughout the period of the internship especially when a senior asked for aid with a task as I knew detail and no errors is vital.
Responsibilities
I was given a high level of responsibility during my internship, firstly to the businesses morales and throughout the completion of tasks. I would have liked a bit more responsibility maybe with a few more challenging tasks to further develop my professional skills.
Support & Guidance
The support provided by EY was great, there was always someone available if you have any questions and queries. Also, with Microsoft Teams which is used to contact with collegues in all the EY offices enables you to message anyone which is very helpful as there was always someone to ask for help. Furthermore, on the first day we were allocated a buddy who completed the induction and was very supportive.
Culture
Company culture was good, everyone is very friendly and the general atmosphere is also good.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship, not only did I meet some great people but also it has aided me with skills that will be vital in my future. Furthermore, the office held social events which was a great way of meeting people.
Yes
To make the most of it, ask lots of questions, talk to as many people as you can, enjoy the experience, ask for more work if you are available as it is all learning
