Overview
Assigned to various clients from the beginning of internship. Involved with contributing to audits from differing stages in the audit process. Interacting and meeting with clients, on-site and teams calls. Exposure to mandatory learning courses, and additional opportunities to expand my knowledge through EY's badges program
Skills
First experience in a corporate environment Gaining extensive hands on experience with clients Learning of the audit process and the association with financial accounts and the potential risks imposed on the audit
Responsibilities
Yes, there was a large element of trust within the work office. Seniors were not surveilling when they were not helping you There was the expectation that you were honest and if you were stuck or had nothing to do, there was the support from your counsellor and/or your assigned buddy Autonomy on client work was extensive considering the fact I was technically the lowest in the hierarchy, EY has a very flat structure
Support & Guidance
Reference at previous question. Support from counsellor for work and wellbeing related issues. Buddy was assigned to help with more general settling in with system navigation and meeting new colleagues Seniors are the direct help for interns when working on client tasks/documents
Culture
People culture is brilliant. Everyone is so nice and welcoming. Is a large factor for me in considering applying for EY again Relaxed atmosphere, just the expectation to not be slacking on work. Communication is highly encouraged
Your Impressions
From lunch breaks, to after work socials, I always felt included. Exposure to working at such a high level was fascinating and enjoyable
Yes
Be yourself and be outgoing
