Overview
The engagement team has a daily catch up meeting in the morning, with everyone discussing their working process and raise concerns with the managers/seniors. Being the intern, we usually shadow one of the seniors and are allocated tasks with guidance. Tasks include audit testing workbook using excel and a few admin tasks.
Skills
Developed communication skills and technical skills.
Responsibilities
you have to be proactive and ask for tasks.
Support & Guidance
People in EY are friendly and helpful. You can easily start a conversation with anyone in the office, and they are willing to tell you more about the company and the industry. Regarding guidance in work, my seniors always set me up with tasks that I am capable to perform, with detailed explanation of not just how the work should be performed, but also why the work affects the whole audit process and the theory behind.
Culture
The company has a lively atmosphere with colorful interior design and a nice working environment. Diversity is the word for EY, as I genuinely connect to different people, from different countries, different departments, and everyone is willing to chat and share their perspective. From such a fabulous working environment, I feel supported by people in EY, behind every step that I made. One highlight is the CSR fundraising event that our group of intern did, where we sell donuts for the EY foundation, which is empowering.
Your Impressions
100% enjoyed my internship. Interns were invited to the annual audit social, which is a lot of fun. It is great opportunity to meet people that you don't work with, and hear about their experience and insights. EY is also flexible with working hybrid.
Yes
Be open minded, and the journey will be rewarding and full of surprises.
