Overview
I shadowed a range of people within the team and was able to join in on internal meetings as well as client meetings. I helped to draft emails, complete admin tasks and create resources for a team strategy day. Alongside this, the interns were placed in teams to create a presentation for a case study.
Skills
I have improved upon my PowerPoint and Excel skills as well as general email/letter drafting. In terms of technical tax knowledge I have greatly increased my knowledge and learnt specifically about shares and share options. I have developed my network and worked hard to create meaningful connections with the people I have met in the team and across EY.
Responsibilities
I was given tasks to do that were within my capability and with the help of team members in levels above me, I was able to work on more difficult things and have their feedback.
Support & Guidance
Everyone in my team was so kind and welcoming and were always willing to help me and support me with questions I had. We also had lots of onboarding sessions with the Student Recruitment team and online training to complete.
Culture
Everyone I met at EY was welcoming and approachable. I felt included as part of the team and appreciated.
Your Impressions
I had a great time at EY and wish it had lasted longer so I could have got more involved!
