Overview
Shadowing people working at natwest and learning from people working in different departments of the commercial banking sector. Observing customer calls such as financial health checks and working on several individual projects on topics like net promoter support and AI in banking.
Skills
I have learnt how to not be in my comfort zone, go out of my way and try to learn more. I have learnt how to be observant and vigilant of my work. Most of all I have learn how to manage my time and balance my social and work skills
Responsibilities
I was given a certain amount of responsibility to work on projects and deliver on time. I was trusted with some surveys to analyze and give feedback on and I was also given the responsibility to work on self development.
Support & Guidance
I had a lot of support from my manager and my buddy throughout my internship. Along with that other people from the team and other graduates and interns were always available to help.
Culture
The company culture was very helpful and motivating. Every second person would encourage you and help you progress. The bank as a whole has one purpose and everyone was working towards that, championing potential and moving forward with every step.
Your Impressions
Through the 8 week journey I thoroughly enjoyed my journey and if I had the chance I would do it all over again. Every step was exciting and every new project was a new challenge
Yes
I would advice someone to take up new opportunities and put your best foot out there. Do not shy away from being yourself and dont be afraid to ask questions. This internship is based to learn and take away some great advice
