Overview
Looking through audit files and turning my observations into trackers which other members of my team can use. Emailing members of the company who are at different ranks. Meeting with colleagues in the service line to learn more about assurance.
Skills
I become more meticulous as I would have to read a large number of files per day. I have learnt to become more efficient and how to prioritise my work. My time management has improved due to this.
Responsibilities
I was given tasks where I had control over how I wanted to do them. This meant that I did not feel too much pressure as someone new to the business but I also felt like I was not being spoon-fed.
Support & Guidance
There were so many point of contact I could reach out too if I need guidance. I was given a buddy and a counsellor as well as all the project team. I never felt lost and always knew there was someone I could go to.
Culture
Everyone is very friendly. It did not feel competitive and everyone is always willing to help each other. There is a strong community feeling here.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my internship as I have learnt so much and developed my skills which is what I set out do. The company is very friendly and you feel that your work has an actual impact. They emphasised taking advantage of their learning opportunities which I appreciated.
Yes
Be yourself and let that show in any interactions you have with company. I think it is also very important to understand what the company does and what it is passionate about as they take this very seriously.
