Overview
Work within the Economic Advisory team varies from day-to-day. It can include client meetings, team meetings, economic research and modelling as well as PowerPoint and Excel presentations.
Skills
Enhanced my PowerPoint and Excel skills dramatically, including complex formulae, formatting, presentation skills and macro use. Improved presentation and communication skills through presenting in meetings and calls as well as when facing clients and senior managers. Time-management and organisational skills are crucial and will be tested/developed when juggling several projects and commitments, under the pressure of deadlines.
Responsibilities
Yes I was responsible for the creation and finalisation of presentations and information that was sent out to clients of the company. Through this, both my own and the company's reputation is judged, so there is responsibility for Interns.
Support & Guidance
I received as much support and guidance as I needed. EY has a huge network of support available, which is very nurturing.
Culture
The atmosphere is friendly and work orientated. My team was small due to the specific and niche sector it focuses on, so it had a general family feel to it.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed this internship with EY. Not only has it developed my business skills, preparing me for the wider world after university, but it has also developed myself as a person. I have increased my confidence throughout the Internship.
Yes
Be yourself. EY has a great culture and is very heavily focused on the wellbeing of it's employees. They are looking for people who want to be a part of a team, and contribute to a better world.
