Overview
Working within the Customs team on processes such as reliefs, customs valuations and origin status
Skills
Yes, I feel like my confidence in the corporate world has increased such as being able to talk with clients or send professional emails
Responsibilities
I was assigned work that I was able to ask my seniors for assistance with, but otherwise was left to me to complete
Support & Guidance
Weekly sessions with counsellor as well as everybody I met being open and honest with any questions I would ask or help needed
Culture
A lot more laid back than I imagined, everybody was super open to helping and seemed genuinely interested in me and my career.
Your Impressions
Wholeheartedly enjoyed it and think it was a perfect example of what an internship should look like
Yes
I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about whether you will fit in or whether they will like you, and worry more about whether they are right for you- you will be assigned quite a small team on your internship so it's important you consider whether you see yourself enjoying a career within your team
