The Role
I really really enjoyed my placement! An absolute blast that will stay with me for ever. I had incredible experiences like travelling to L.A. and Germany and the best part was i was working with a product that I love!
Everyone was great! I feel like i have made friends for life and have close relationships with the majority of the team. I felt part of the team as opposed to just a tempory member.
I didn't have the greatest handover from my predecesor and had to pick up most things for myself. However I always knew that I could as the team if i needed help.
Never bored! But sometimes it felt like a little bit too much work, I was helping the entire team out on different projects so at times it was a little bit overwhelming. However as long as I managed expectations there was no problem.
More than I would ever have imagined, I got the opportunity to run my own projects and lead meetings etc.
I will take so much from this year! Definitley skills for life! I feel like i have not only developed skills but developed as a person, I am now more prepared for working life.
The Company
Great atmosphere, work hard, play hard experience!
There was a strong process of induction and team building before hand, which made the integration into the team a lot easier.
They definitley look after their interns and allocate a lot of resources to making the experience worthwhile and enjoyable

The graduate scheme is very competitive but interns are fasttracked straight to assessment centre, so there are definitley benefits to going through the internship. Also the roles are fairly limited and do not cover as many business functions as the internships do.
The Culture
Great intern community! It was like being at Uni!
Its fairly high, but Microsoft pay a good wage, so its not a problem covering expenditure. I did not save as much as I had wanted though.
Very good, I experienced both Reading and London nightlife. Plenty of Bars, clubs and places to eat.
There are hundreds of societies and after work activities. I myself joined the football team.
