Overview
Automating reports and helping with daily production through the use of VBA, Python and SQL.
Skills
Learnt how to use SQL and SQL Server. Already had experience in VBA and Python but was able to apply to financial markets and risk. Gained broader understanding of financial markets and how sales/trading works.
Responsibilities
Yes - I was able to take on a lot of independent projects.
Support & Guidance
Plenty of support within the team I was in as well as other colleagues in Risk. It was always ok to ask questions - even if they seemed silly or straightforward.
Culture
Everyone was friendly and happy to talk about their work. Lots of advice and exposure to different desks.
