Overview
Structural Analysis of proposed structures, checking and reporting. Attending meetings and group sessions. Learning about the role and a potential future career.
Skills
Developed my structural analysis skills, developed my engineering judgment, improved my team working skills and learning new ways to tackle big problems as a team or receiving help from more experienced peers.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given work that contributes to the current projects of the company that go out to clients, being helped and guided well, with my work being checked through by a more experienced colleague.
Support & Guidance
Lots of support, everyone is really friendly, approachable and happy to help. The teamwork and team spirit in the office is clearly very positive and everyone makes me feel like part of the team rather than just a temporary placement student.
Culture
The culture is very people-focused, there are lots of group sessions that are fun, interactive and informative, everyone seems happy, there is a great atmosphere, senior team members don't feel like they are above you, everyone sits integrated with each other, you feel equal with everyone and you feel supported.
Your Impressions
I enjoy my placement very much, it is a great insight into a potential future career in an office with a friendly, helpful, inclusive atmosphere.

Be yourself, don't try to be overly formal, show personality and willingness to be part of a team that all works hard for each other and pulls in the same direction.
