Overview
Working with a small team of 4 people my day to day work is mainly doing evidence gathering activities (EGAs) and filling in data on Aura. Occasional proof reading of financial statements and powerpoints.
Skills
I have applied and developed my knowledge of accounting in a practical way. Learnt how to use Aura, Connect and furthered my skills on Excel. I also have improved my communication skills in a professional manner having talked to partners and clients.
Responsibilities
There were certain tasks that I undertook which were key to the half year review being ontime. I was doing work my team would have had to do and given the time pressure I felt like I was helping my team. The tasks were important but with most tasks at PwC there is always a review process which means any mistakes I made were pointed out to me to correct.
Support & Guidance
Lots, my team made an effort to check in on me often. They also made it clear to come to them with any questions. Eve my career coach sat next to me every day so I could ask questions and when I completed the task she could talk me through my next one.
Culture
Really amazing culture and atmosphere, far better then I expected. PwC values a work life balance and most people seemed to have non work activities to do which the team were very accomodating of. Everyone was very friendly and I felt welcome from day one.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed it. Getting involved with training, volunteering, Intern project and audit work. Lots of opportunity to socialise with your fellow interns.
