Skills
As this experience was very interactive and made me feel comfortable i was able to step out of my comfort zone and be very involved with the programme. It helped that the people leading the program seemed approachable and friendly which helped set the atmosphere and mood for the rest of the experience. I think this program has helped improve and develop confidence in group discussions making sure that you feel heard and presentation and communications skills.
Business Insight
Throughout the programme they have provided a lot of links and resources for the group to use to find out all the roles and career opportunities that were avaliable for the group to explore and sign up to. We were informed about the application process, if we ever felt persuaded to apply for a position at LBG, the different timelines depending on which programs you wanted too apply for. For example, internships for current undergraduate students, graduate schemes for recent graduates, apprenticeships for school leavers, and recent graduates which is something that made me interested in applying to and i would not have known about these opportunities if i did not attend the event.
Culture
The company culture is a company where you do not have to know everything and be an expect in anything in order to get a job in the company. As long as you have the willingness and the right attitude to learn and develop they are happy to have you. It is such a big company that if you feel like the role you initially came into the company does not fit you there are plenty of job paths you can explore and it is very flexible.
Your Impressions
It was very fun, interactive and enjoyable. At the start everybody was nervous but i think that the people in charge of the program brought a great energy to the experience which really helped bring the nervous tension down and made people feel really comfortable and more open. This really helped bring a lot of friendly sides to people and it made group discussions easier which in turn really helped with team work within the group tasks.
Yes
i would say that Lloyds Banking Group are not looking for the perfect candidate. As much as it is useful to be good at everything what is important to Lloyds Banking Group is that you have a lot of potential and the right attitude to excel. If you show them your motivations and how your values align with them you definitely have a great chance of having a successful application with them. Also you should just apply. LBG is such a big organisation that if you don't feel like you are the right fit for one role i'm sure there is a rooms within the organisation you are miss suited for as it is that big of a company
