Overview
I worked on preparing client briefings, drafting outlines of new regulations and assisting lawyers in producing legal know-how documents. I had some administrative tasks but they were minimal and involved using a new CRM tool which I'm happy to learn. My supervisors placed me in many internal and external meetings. I don't generally contribute to these meetings but it was nice to get the exposure.
Skills
Yes. I got to know the practice groups and their organisation structure much better. I also developed practical skills such as reading and summarising prospective law. As a non-law student, I lack confidence in this area. The internship definitely helped me deliver these tasks more efficiently and improved my confidence.
Responsibilities
Yes. I find the tasks I'm given very helpful in terms of developing legal and BD skills. I also got to volunteer in other tasks and teams I'm interested in. I worked on a tech project independently and my supervisors helped me connect to the right people to push it forward.
Support & Guidance
My supervisors provided timely feedback on each task. They also provided me example work from other trainees when requested.
Culture
So far did not see any red flags. Could be more diverse at management level.
Your Impressions
