  • Speaking to and managing brands/clients wishes. Assisting to create exposure that aligns with their campaigns. Ensuring the website is aesthetically ace and developing company-macro relations and upholding good PR of the company, it's values and the culture we work in.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed more skills than I thought I would on my placement here, from simply learning the inner workings of office life and the affiliate industry to managing not only horizontally but upwards as well. Interviewing for new placements has allowed me to gain experience in responsibilities I would not usually be able to gain without being higher up in the company. And simply learning professional lingo has proven an asset to me.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Straight away I was given enough as much autonomy over my work as a permanent employee but with the necessary support of course. Once I had become comfortable with the position I was given further responsibilities such as the 'Hub' page which has millions of members visit it and is the second biggest part of the website. I was tasked with completing this each week and managing my colleagues to ensure it's completion.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Professionally I received as much support as I needed, If I excelled I was left to my own devices and if I was struggling I was helped until I was able to excel on my own. Personally the support was ongoing as the company allows you to grow and thrive in your time there, they are constantly attempting to nurture your professional and personal development with as much support as you need.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • I would say it's a bit like a Google company, the autonomy given to employees and their work load allows you to mold your work ethic/load into something more manageable for yourself. The is many employee benefits such as free fruit and two daily payed walks which only small help hugely with moral. The dress code and working environment is very relaxed which allows you to be as well.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I could not have asked for a better placement. I turned down a higher payer placement for this opportunity and was skeptical but this placement advanced my career opportunities and experience ten-fold! The people at this company made me feel like I didn't work a day of my placement while still gaining more opportunities and skills than I could have hoped for.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to TopCashback
  • It's less about your qualifications and experiences, although you will need a certain level of such to succeed in the position. It is more about how those experiences have shaped you and how you can attribute them to your work at the company! They are hiring people here not robots and as such the character of your person is of the upmost importance.
