Overview
Placed into a particular team, assisting various employees and speaking with people of different seniorities. Undertaking short-term projects and getting involved with anything going on in the team. Also took part in a series of insights from different service lines throughout the whole firm.
Skills
I have been able to develop my excel skills through various avenues. It has been important to communicate and ask as many questions as possible to gain a deeper understanding of the team and the wider firm.
Business Insight
Good balance of team specific knowledge but also wider firm knowledge. The lunch and learn series with different team leaders has been particularly helpful as well as virtual Q&A sessions with various service lines. Clear link between internship programme and graduate roles available as well as having the opportunity to speak to current grads about the grad scheme and rotation scheme.
Culture
Great company culture. Everyone is very welcoming, friendly and keen for interns to get involved. Flat hierarchy is clear and there is no pressure to get everything right, more encouragement to ask questions and develop.
Your Impressions
Thoroughly enjoyed the internship. It has been well structured, provides great networking opportunities, and gives an insight into financial services and other services lines which Mazars provides.
Yes
Be open minded and confident, the team and firm want you to succeed. Prepare lots of questions to make the most of your experience and to figure out whether you are right for the firm.
