Overview
The management and directors provided me with many projects and learning opportunities to better my prospects in the profession. I am given the opportunity to partake in an assessment centre to be fast-tracked for a graduate scheme. I have been given the chance to meet with many directors, partners, and even the global head of my department. Mazars provides you with all of the resources you need to learn the foundations of the profession.
Skills
This internship has largely improved my financial literacy skills and knowledge of the finance industry. Furthermore, the internship has improved my understanding of businesses, corporate finance and of how the world functions as a whole. I have also developed my MS office skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) and my soft skills, speaking with colleagues from a diverse range of teams.
Business Insight
At first there is a lot to consider as there are many different departments with a focus in audit, however, within a day it is easy to get a feel for the business. Everyone is so approachable that you can ask about their department and learn which role suits you best.
Culture
Mazars is very involved in pushing for diversity and inclusivity, offering many sessions which help you learn about related issues. Everyone was incredibly approachable and helpful, and there is generally a busy yet relatively stress-free atmosphere which is very inspiring when undertaking projects.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed every day in the office and I felt as if I was constantly learning.
