Overview
I’ve been hired as Design Intern, and I’m here to explore a variety of design disciplines. I work Monday – Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, online or on the York Road office. As a designer I collaborate with business analysts, developers and key client stakeholders. I’m currently working as a UX Designer, but I also have a great interest on Visual design and User Research. Throughout this year, I worked in supporting client facing projects, mainly on the healthcare sector.
Skills
I've developed my Visual Design and User Research skills. My project was very flexible for me to try these new disciplines and work with experienced designers.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility in my placement and I truly felt like a team member. The skills developed helped me to become a confident designer. Now, I fully understand the concepts of UX and Visual Design to then implement them on my personal projects & client projects. Moreover, now I can teach others about design principles, examples such as creating playbacks for my designs to multidisciplinary teams and organising meeting effectively with my team.
Support & Guidance
I received lots of support from my task manager and foundation manager. They were amazing! If I ever had any doubts they would have my back, and I knew I could talk to them about any work or personal related issue. Moreover, my team has also been very supportive, they knew I was an intern, and gave me time to finish off tasks. They were always looking out for me and I learnt so much from them!
Culture
The company culture is very friendly! Everyone welcomes you with a smile and you can talk to anyone for any advice!
Your Impressions
