Skills
- Learnt new skills regarding what an auditors day to day role consists of. - Learnt new information regarding how audits are put together & how information is collected from the clients. - Learnt about the company culture and values. -Developed by knowledge of financial information and audit in general. - Doing a finance degree myself, it was good to see how I could use this degree in practise. - Developed my skills in creating presentations and presenting them to leadership teams.
Responsibilities
I was working alongside the associates on live audits, therefore I would say that I was given a huge amount of responsibility in that sense. We also presented presentations to directors partners regarding the sector we were auditing which I found was a good responsibility to have. Personally, I feel I could have had a little more responsibility but with working with live clients the amount we were given was a good and fair amount.
Support & Guidance
The support and guidance given was amazing! The team I was with and the student recruitment team were always available to help as and when needed. The guidance given was helpful and we were given access to sites from the company to support us in doing work as well as regarding the company itself, we also had the team beside us that were always available to help whenever we needed. The culture and people at this company is unbeatable.
Culture
The company culture and general atmosphere of the company is amazing, the people in this company make it a very good place to work and allow even interns to feel included and part of the group by inviting us to socials and getting to know us better. It was also very inclusive, accepting and allowed people to get to know each other better whilst working which was nice, especially when getting to know leadership teams.
Your Impressions
I did enjoy my placement / internship a lot as it taught me about the company and what opportunities they have available. I would have liked to see further into other lines of service so that I could have found out more, however, I really enjoyed getting to know the audit line of service and would advise anyone who is able to try it out as I learnt a lot throughout my time at this company.
Yes
I would advise anyone to go for the opportunity if they are able to do so as it gives a great insight into the company as a whole as well as the line of service they are interested into. With the internship being a month long it allows you to have long enough to see the culture and nature of the company and actually get to know your pees which is invaluable when deciding your future career
