    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As an intern, I am responsible for sourcing tasks to complete from their team/managers. This involves basic admin tasks or can include shadowing senior staff and their work-practices. Additionally, you have the opportunity to join client calls to aid understanding. As well as this, interns are put into group-based competitions where they have the opportunity to present their research to CEOs and business owners.

  • I feel like I have become more independent in finding more work as well as becoming more confident in talking to more senior members of the team. The internship also promotes time management as you have juggle different tasks often.

  • I feel like I was given a lot of responsibility as I had to complete my tasks independently. There is always a review by a more senior member of the team so feedback is always available and any mistakes are corrected

  • My career coach and buddy offered me a lot of support, in terms of work and advice about my future career. Whenever I had an question about work, they would always provide a thorough answer to make sure I had understood the concept.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The PwC environment was very open and comfortable for me to incorporate into as a newcomer. The staff was friendly and helpful, as most had been in my position and the office is open, so anyone can communicate with anyone.

  • My experience was better than expected and gave me a new perspective on audit and accounting culture. Despite being a short-term internship, you are made to feel like a part of the team and part of the PWC family.

  • Utilize company events as an opportunity to network throughout the application, which are often held in-person. During the interview process, make sure you have researched the core values as well as the role you have applied for.
