Overview
I work in the Secured Borrowing team on mortgages. I analyse complaints data and make a plan on how to reduce these complaints. This includes amending websites, brochures and then presenting the proposed changes to the wider team.
Skills
Yes, I have developed my presenting skills and working with a wider team. I have improved my communication skills and now have a greater understanding on how a larger business works and operates.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given the sole responsibility of updating and suggesting changes to the website and brochures which are seen by tens of thousands of people annually.
Support & Guidance
Lots of support. I was assigned a team leader who was always available if I needed any help and was very good at explaining everything. Furthermore, I had another intern on my team which helped. There are also lots of wellbeing and support there if needed too.
Culture
Company culture is really good. Everyone is very friendly, nice and willing to introduce themselves and help you out. Even though you are there only a short time you are treated equal and given lots of opportunities.
Your Impressions
I have enjoyed my time on my internship. The workload wasn't overwhelming and everyone was really friendly. I found that the area where I was placed wasn't the most challenging and I was hoping to be able to apply what I have learnt at University more.
