Overview
I was given a list of jobs for me to complete during my internship at the beginning so I would work through them. Then some days I would be asked to complete other tasks and add them to my list of jobs. I would do site-finding, research and due diligence primarily.
Skills
Yes, one of the employees taught me how to use QGIS very early on and by the end of the internship I feel confident using the software to present data on a map. Secondly, I have learnt a lot about the energy industry, for example about the new technologies and how valuations differ from other parts of the property industry. Finally I have learnt some new functions on excel which will be invaluable in an line of work I go into.
Responsibilities
I think I was given the perfect amount of responsibility. My outputs were checked by the employees who set me the task and then sent on to a client as an output for instance.
Support & Guidance
I was taught very early on how to use some of the crucial software and then if I needed any help at all someone in my team would gladly help.
Culture
The culture was fantastic everyone was very welcoming, it was also a really fun place to work, I had a lovely time.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed it. I am now planning on taking my next steps in order to apply for a graduate role for September 2024.
Yes
I would say to really research the market before going into the internship as it will give you a headstart on what you are working on.
