  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I didn't really enjoy the work I was doing, it was a struggle to be honest. I didn't appreciate my lab atmosphere.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • With the other industrial placement student in my lab I would say like a family, with my supervisor I would say like a friend but with the other permanents in my lab it's more like a stranger.

  • I had a good relationship with my supervisor, he has always been there for me to give me the best guidance ever!

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had periods very busy and other periods really boring.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had very difficult chemistry so it was quite difficult to give a lot of responsibilities ie. proper synthesis control.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed a lot of skills, first in chemistry then in English in my pharmaceutical industry knowledge, for sure this placement has been useful !!

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • As i said earlier the atmosphere in lab was pretty bad, competition between chemists, and bad management has created a bad atmosphere into the lab

  • because of the bad management in my lab my overall lab has not been well established which made my placement more difficult.

  • the company invest a lot of time to train you and make sure that we were happy being here and enjoying our placement.

  • With the economic crisis I think that employment chances are low.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • yes we had lot of good time between the placement students and some colleagues.

  • the cost of living was acceptable

  • London was close to Stevenage so the nightlife was quite good !

  • parties, pub lunch, team building....
