Overview
I had to work with external agencies to develop and prepare marketing materials, this meant writing project briefs, project managing, reviewing materials and working cross functionally to get insights for developing these. This job also include using internal system for all material approval.
Skills
I have definitely developed prioritisation, project management and also leadership skills. The placement offers you the possibility to get involved in many charity projects as well as skill development style events therefore you can customise your experience and focus on the skills you want to develop
Responsibilities
The more the placement went on the more responsibility I was given and at the end I was leading on all marketing materials for a brand relaunch. The managers keep increasing the complexity and responsibility very carefully to not overwhelm you but enough to keep you challenged and help you advance
Support & Guidance
I had several different managers therefore the support I received was very much depended on which manager I had at the time due to different management styles but mostly it was a very positive experience and all the managers want you to make the most out of the placement
Culture
Company culture is great. everyone promotes balance and wellbeing, wants you to take off time when needed and doesn't expect nor want you to work overtime.
Your Impressions
It was great and there are so many interns doing their placements that it was never boring. I felt like I had really developed during my time at Pfizer and I feel a lot more confident now that I have to apply for future jobs
Yes
I would say have a clear vision why you want to be a part of Pfizer and what you want to experience. Pfizer doesn't necessarily only promote linear career progression which means you can get to experience so much of the business if you want to which is something to definitely keep in mind
