Overview
As an intern you start out shadowing plenty of people which involves joining them on the calls/meetings they have for the day. Then you can get more involved and pick up various bits of work when they arise which keeps you busy day to day. This involves things like completing billing spreadsheets, researching potential clients, reviewing contracts etc.
Skills
I have learnt how to take meeting minutes in an efficient and effective manner, and developed all of my soft skills including communication, organisation, teamwork and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
I was given a fair amount of responsibility, often getting assigned work which was basic but directly involved in a client facing project.
Support & Guidance
I received a great amount of support and guidance, lots of people were very proactive in reaching out to get to know me and offer me advice. Also, everyone was super helpful when I would seek out work or have questions.
Culture
It is a very welcoming and supportive environment where learning and inquisitiveness is encouraged, and everyone is more than happy to answer any questions or clarify things to help you develop.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it greatly, it was a pleasant surprise to see what it is like working here day to day. I also got on really well with the other interns and this made the experience far more enjoyable for me.
Yes
I would say that you get out what you put in, so if you do get an opportunity then get stuck in and make the most of it. Speaking to as many people as you can and expanding your network will give you more opportunities for development, and you will enjoy it more when making genuine connections.
