Overview
On day-to-day basis I am assigned to different engagements and working with different teams simultaneously. This involves team meetings regards to the process of the work completed and any questions regarding on certain situations are supposed to be approach and resolved. Furthermore, if any matters are unresolved and cannot be explained without an input from the client, you will have the opportunity to communicate this to the client, this means client meetings in-person or online where you have the opportunity to present yourself and gather information to ensure that your work is completed in a professional manner.
Skills
Throughout this internship I have gathered and developed large set of skills. For instance, opportunities of interactions with different staff, either in team setting or outside, has been beneficial in terms of my skills in team working, communicating and handling the responsibilities given to me. Furthermore, participation in events such as community volunteering has strongly developed my skills in public speaking and considerations for actions you take on a larger scale. Also, I have learnt technical skills that are required for auditing entities, such as documentation, professional scepticism among other crucial skills that are necessary for this profession.
Responsibilities
During my internship, my supervisors (buddy, career coach, and other staff) were interactive with me and provided me with variety of responsibilities. This included client work which requires professional competence among other skills to be apart of which means that the tasks that were given to me involved a large set of responsibilities and required me to complete these tasks with quality. Although there were responsibilities given to me, I was always supported by the staff if I had any questions about the work given to me.
Support & Guidance
Throughout my internship, as discussed before, I received continuous support. With the teams that I was working in or any other staff within the office were always ready to help with any of my concerns, this involved associates along with more senior staff within the office. Throughout my responsibilities and engagements, the staff were supportive and allowed me to ask them variety of questions, even if it was not related to the work that I was performing which made me feel supported during this period.
Culture
In general, the atmosphere within the office and outside it was positive and inclusive. This allowed me to make relationships and friendships among the people in the office. Employees are very welcoming and are ready to help you with any situation that you are in. Furthermore, the staff included me in external sports events, such as football. Moreover, the company's culture is inclusive and strongly outlines meaningulf values and offers support through range of communities such as metal health to always ensure that you do feel included and supported throughout your experience.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my internship a lot. It gave me a valuable insight in the life at PwC, allowed me to make meaningful networking and relationship opportunities with the staff, and overall improved a large range of my skills such as technical and interpersonal attributes. I am very happy with the output that this internship has given me and I definitely view this as a very beneficial moment for my career in the industry and to me as a person.
Yes
Do not be nervous about applying and in the longer term working within PwC network. Everyone is very inclusive and supportive. Even if you are not confident with your technical skills, you will be provided with essential training and in general you will receive guidance throughout all of the work you are completing. Furthermore, it is important for you to be confident and social with all of the people involved as this will open up a lot of opportunities such as external events (sporting events).
