Overview
I would go on property inspections with colleagues and make observational notes which would feed into valuation reports that I would write which would assess a range of factors concerning the subject property in order to value it. My role also involved researching rental and investment comps and collating information on various properties in table format using Excel spreadsheets.
Skills
The role has definitely helped in improving my analytical skills, communication skills and critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities
Yes - quite literally from day dot I was taken on an inspection where I spoke with the owner of the property, took notes and utilised the information retained to write up a valuation report for our client.
Support & Guidance
I received all the support I needed. My supervisor made sure that I was well-informed about the different work circling around the team and taught me all the necessary information to ensure that I could carry out my tasks to the best of my abilities. In addition, I not once felt like I couldn't ask questions.
Culture
Very much a collaborative, partnership culture where there was an importance in the value of the individual and making sure that all voices are heard
