Overview
Mostly coming in shadowing meetings, a few tasks however they arent given often, networking with others and completing the intern purpose challenge as well as any compliance tasks during my down time.
Skills
I have developed my excel skills and learnt about other software such as origin and salesforce.
Responsibilities
Not too much since within deals the work is either confidential or too high level. I was given two research tasks to do and one where I had to calculate financial ratios of a few firms and create a slide which was good. The intern purpose challenge was a good way of getting us interns stuck into the full lifecycle of a piece of work.
Support & Guidance
Not as much structure in terms of formal training however if I ever had a question about anything everyone was super friendly and always willing to help.
Culture
The culture was amazing, ive honestly made such genuine relationships with the people in such a short span of time. This allowed me to really enjoy time spent in the office. The offices themselves are really nice too. People definitely work long hours though, most of my immediate team ate lunch at their desks and most people stay past 5.30pm everyday. However the benefits of flexible working make this not so bad.
Your Impressions
I definitely enjoyed my internship alot.
Yes
The huge corporate environment and reputation of intense work may make the firm seem daunting however no need to worry since the amazing culture and friendly nature of everyone makes it an amazing place to be. I will definitely miss this place as I go back to university.
