Overview
Internship placement. Helping the team to fulfill any jobs that need completing, including drafting cover letters and statements, conducting research and analysis for planning applications and a range of other duties
Skills
I have developed my confidence and professionalism, my practical knowledge, my ability to communicate with others and network with people.
Responsibilities
I was given full control over a mini-research project, which I then presented to my team whilst also chairing their weekly meeting. I was also able to work on actual projects, producing work which would impact the results of the projects, although still relatively minor in importance.
Support & Guidance
Any time I was not aware of something, I felt comfortable in asking the team who were more than happy to help out and were always available if I had any questions.
Culture
Very social, very people focused, not as inclusive as I envisioned for a central London company, but people in general were very welcoming. If you didn't know something people would simply educate you.
Your Impressions
Exposure to practice and people in the industry, hands on experience, knowledge gain, personal development
Yes
Don't be afraid to ask questions, get stuck in, be involved, be social.
