Overview
We had a range of talks, practice overviews and Q&As over the 3 weeks, often one or two per day. These were really informative. The rest of the time I was in an office with an associate, being set tasks by them to complete. I also had coffee chats with a range of people from other practice areas to the one I was sat in to learn more about the differences in work.
Skills
I have developed my skills such as communication skills, interpersonal skills, and analytical skills. I have also gained skills in legal research and looking at case law.
Business Insight
It was accessible and thorough, and I felt like I learnt a lot. It was good to learn through a mixture of listening and interactive activities.
Culture
Really friendly and supportive - much more so than I thought it would be. Vac schemers were treated with a lot of respect too, rather than feeling very much at the bottom of the food chain.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it, a lot more than I thought I would. There was a really good balance of work but also social activities.
Yes
To just apply, even if you don't rate your chances highly. To come into the process with an open mind. To brush up on understanding on commercial law.
