Overview
I attended presentations on the different practice areas. Some were intended to give us a bigger picture of the commercial world. I did trainee tasks in my seat. I organized coffee chats with people from different areas of the firm to gain an insight into their work. I did assessments given by graduate recruitment.
Skills
Yes, I have learnt how to better manage my time and to handle different workstreams. I also learnt to develop my commercial awareness by thinking about the client's drivers and priorities.
Business Insight
It was interesting. I was able to think of the business as both a whole and as a sum of different practices.
Culture
The culture was friendly and inclusive. I was made to feel very comfortable and everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Think about why you want the experience really carefully. Work hard on your technical knowledge whether or not you are a law student. You need to show that you are willing and wanting to learn.
