Overview
Supporting the team in the planning and execution of a broad range of digital (and when appropriate face to face) events. Attendance at virtual (and when relevant, physical events) to support the sales and marketing teams in the execution and follow up of events. Analysis and tracking of the event performance using online tools to access data. (Excel skills, especially the ability to create tabular pivot tables will be very helpful) Weekly updates to the UKI Event Execution Management System Other tasks include maintenance of online event community hub, setting up team calls and organising content. Leadership of other ITs in support of IBMs large events. Responsibility for the marketing storeroom including the upkeep of the online portal and booking system for marketing owned assets, shipment and return of marketing assets. The role demands both creativity and analytical skills to help the team to create the very best customer experiences, and to analyse and measure our return on investment and success at supporting the IBM business.

Responsibilities
I was given lots of responsibility whereby I was trusted with the handling and running of the store room with all the parcels that were being shipped to the office and needing shipped out. Furthermore, I was trusted to complete communication marketing tasks as well as supporting all type of events; big and small. This would be all aspects of the event from the planning stages, to logistical organisation, the execution and post event.
Support & Guidance
Had a foundation manager and a task manager which helped guide me through the year and during presentations. everyone super willing to help although you have to be willing to ask for help and not sit back, otherwise you will be assumed that you understand everything!
Culture
friendly, fun and outgoing. lots of opportunities for growth through learning platforms and events. everyone values work and life balance
Your Impressions
I have enjoyed throughly the social side of this internship year, I have had the opportunity to meet, network and make lifelong friends during my time at IBM. On the work side, it has been also great as an event marketer, had the opportunity to stay over night in different parts of the UK. Work side, has been very stressful at time but learning to speak to individuals and sharing worries and workload has been crucial. I wish there was more of the opportunity to delve into events finance and its planning stages for future interns.
Yes
Be yourself and take it as a formal one to one conversation with someone that wants to get to know you more ! Prior to the interview, do as much research as possible about the company. Big advocate for reading up upon recent IBM news as they may ask you about that and have some basic understanding for tech (especally AI) as they will ask things related to it. And... know the company values and growth behaviours! extra brownie points for using buzz words such as 'IBMer'
