Overview

Skills
Excel, PowerBI, Tableu, developing people skills, general and narrow understanding of business operations
Responsibilities
A significant amount, I was not treated as an intern but as a team member. The team are very flexible, if I ever felt anything was too much I know they would help me with the project or take some of the pressure off, if I wanted more they would give me more.
Support & Guidance
There was never a lack of support, but equally I was not treated as if I was not as capable as someone who has experience. They would guide me on how to do something with advice and if I needed further guidance the teams would never hesitate to help.
Culture
Culture and atmosphere was nothing short of what I expected from UBS. Inclusive, collaborative, everyone treated equally. There is a common understanding that no matter what level you are at you never stop learning and we can all learn from each other. UBS pride themselves on their culture and they should as I can not fault it.
Your Impressions
I would not change a thing, the team were so enjoyable to be around, as well as creating a hardworking, collaborative environment. I would recommend anyone, no matter what your degree background to apply for this internship as the team has something for everyone and all skills are transferable and used.
Yes
Be yourself. I was 100% myself in my interviews and true to my experiences, strengths and weaknesses. At no point have I ever felt that my experience has not been good enough or my degree is not good enough. Show personality, enthusiasm and work ethic, I believe that is what landed me the internship.
