Overview
Day to day you are involved in the running of the branch, dealing with customers and learning different elements of the business. About half of your time is spent on the road, delivering cars to customers and engaging with local corporate accounts. Whilst in the branch you complete various admin tasks, checking around vehicles and working with other branches and departments.
Skills
Customer service - Enterprise prides themselves on their customer service, it is the biggest thing they offer and so throughout this year my customer service skills have developed through practice Team work - Enterprise has a very busy feel to the environment and I have developed the ability to work not only with my own team in my branch but also other local branches. This has extended to working with local vendors and dealerships too
Responsibilities
I was completely shocked by the amount of responsibility I was given during my placement year, from day one it was made very clear I was training to be a manager and so I would be treated as such. I had corporate accounts that were my own responsibility, I was responsible for chasing debt, speaking to insurance companies and dealing directly with customers. I was supported all the way through
Support & Guidance
I could not have asked for more support, within my branch the managers and other colleagues were always there if I needed anything or had any questions. Wider than that we had regular training sessions at head office with the talent development team who were incredible! Further specific support was available from colleagues within specific departments, for example when setting up new corporate accounts I was very supported by our BRSE.
Culture
Enterprise has a work hard and reward hard work culture, every colleague gives their best and encourages others to do the same. Enterprise only promotes from within so the whole culture is very supportive of your career and pushing you to be the best that you can be.
Your Impressions
I fully enjoyed my placement. There were early starts, late finished and the occasional angry customer but I cannot fault the placement experience I had. I have felt supported throughout, I have been encouraged to progress my career and further my opportunities. I have also had genuine fun and made genuine friendships throughout this year
Yes
Keep asking questions, there is so much to know and in your first few months you will feel overwhelmed but keeping asking the questions and the penny will drop. When everything drops into place it is such a proud moment. I would recommend using the management assistants and assistant managers in your branch to the best of your ability, they will really be able to help and support you.
