Overview
- Running sql queries to collect data and inputting onto excel. Then using this to curate analysis for desired outcome and formatting my findings onto powerpoint presentation. Aiding colleague with weekly commentary using data tools.
Skills
Learning sql and excel alongside developing confidence in presenting my ideas and findings.
Responsibilities
Moderate amount- nothing vital to the running of the company but tasked at exploring the granularities of trends not previously analysed.
Support & Guidance
- A lot of support related to my field but also received a mentor who allowed me to discuss other career options with her
Culture
Generally a very welcoming environment with a warm and homely feel (and lots of free snacks)
Your Impressions
I am enjoying my placement very much as I am learning more practical skills and technical skills otherwise not covered in formal education. I've also been able to meet some lovely people and network!
Yes
- Put yourself out there and don't be afraid to try new experiences - Genuinely don't be afraid to ask for help. Literally everyone was new at some point and they don't expect you to know the answer to everything; asking for help is a sure-fire way to not only receive advice for a given problem but also show you are inquisitive and passionate. B ensure to try and troubleshoot any issues first to encourage you being more independent and proactive.
