Overview
Day to day the job entails a variety of things. You are required to complete rental contracts with customers and ensure they have a good experience by providing a good service. This is also a chance to sell our protections to customers. Ensure rental vehicles meet requirements to be rented. Out on the road to deliver and collect vehicles. Also work on admin in the office which could be getting customers rental ready.
Skills
I have significantly developed my customer service skills whilst working at Enterprise. Its easy to recognise when you perform well at the company as there are monthly competitions you can work towards. My confidence has also improved massively through having to do lots of presentations for my own growth but also the intern of the year competition.
Responsibilities
If you work hard and work with your managers closely to discuss what your goals are there is a lot of room for autonomy in the role as you progress. About 6 months into my placement I spoke to my manager about running the day more which is the assistant managers job and i was given the opportunity to do this at least one day per week which really gets you ready for the next promotion. If you were to return to enterprise.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of guidance and support throughout my internship. I had a fab mentor who I met with every couple of months who helped me with various things relating to the job and just advice in general. I knew i could call my mentor whenever and they would help me. My managers were also very supportive and you have a 1-1 with your branch manager every month to set goals for yourself and assess your progress. Id say the teams i worked with in general and all of my colleagues were so supportive and theres a friendly atmosphere that everyone wants to see their peers do well and progress.
Culture
The company culture was really good and there was a good atmosphere. I felt like i got along with everyone in my team really well not just those in my office but those in my area so 40+ people. I felt like i knew everyone on a personal level and everyone got along really well. The team do lots of bonding activities like charity events and area nights out which makes it easier to meet people in the area.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my internship I felt like I achieved all of the goals I had set myself like hitting elite club which is top 20 sales people in the group, winning customer service competitions and other sales competitions. Winning places at captains club where you have an afternoon out of work doing an activity if you perform the best in your captaincy role. And winning the intern of the year competition. I feel Enterprise is a great place to do your internship as it gives you experience on so many levels and you can easily measure your success.
Yes
My advice to others applying to the role would be to be yourself. The main things Enterprise look for is customer service skills and sales skills but even if you don’t have experience in these areas its not a problem. As long as you show you’re eager and willing to learn. Someone who’s motivated will progress really far at Enterprise and thats the kind of traits they look for. Good luck!
